This French heirloom is widely used today by carrot producers. Broad-shouldered with tapered roots lend themselves well to freezing and canning, as well as storage.

Growing recommendations

Sow from early spring to midsummer, 3/4” apart , ¼” deep in rows 12-18” apart. Keep the surface of the soil moist – carrot seedlings are slow to emerge. Keep them weeded too. If necessary, thin young seedlings to ¾–2" apart, depending on type or root size desired.
